(October 23, 2007) KANATA, ON, Canada and HOUSTON — Intertek Group plc quality and safety service provider added Ageus Solutions to its restricted substances consulting services group. Ageus boasts global environmental compliance consulting, technology services, and product stewardship to the electronics and related industries. Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
Ageus services cover global REACH, EU RoHS and WEEE, China RoHS, and Japan Green legislative compliance and conversion. The acquisition will significantly grow Intertek's REACH, RoHS, and related knowledge and services, and complements the company's existing structure, said Mark Loughead, executive VP, Intertek. Joining Intertek will expose Ageus to a range of potential customers, added Bruce Calder, president and CEO, Ageus.
In Intertek's REACH service offering, Ageus will bring on-call consulting services integrated to all levels and sizes of business, REACH strategy management, and insurance that REACH requirements are properly applied and met, as well as employee education.
