IPC Names Global Board Members

(April 17, 2008) BANNOCKBURN, Ill. — IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries revealed its recently elected Board of Directors. Ten directors and three officers, including new chairman Nilesh Naik, CEO, OneSource Group (Texas), were elected to IPC's Board for April 2008 through March 2010. The new members — Rex Rozario, executive chairman, Graphic Plc (U.K); Zhou Xin, senior director, advanced technology R&D, Huawei Technologies (China); and Robert Black Jr., president and CEO, Juki Automation Systems, Inc. (N.C.), represent the global membership and global marketplace IPC serves, according to chairman Naik.

Rozario is a graduate electronics engineer and worked with the inventor of the printed circuit, Paul Eisler, Ph.D. He has worked in the PCB industry from its inception 53 years ago. Active in the IPC PCB Management Council, Rozario was a founding member of the Printed Circuit Interconnection Federation (PCIF) in the U.K. and chairs the European Institute of Printed Circuits.

He is also a six sigma quality trainer (green belt). Zhou has been active in IPC's standards activities (TG Asia) in China.

Black has nearly 35 years of senior executive management experience in the circuit board and semiconductor industries. He was co-founder of Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association (SMEMA) and author of the IPC/SMEMA fiducial mark and mechanical interface standards. While on SMEMA's board, he worked to merge the association with IPC and helped found the APEX exhibition. Black chairs the IPC SMEMA Steering Committee.

"We must continue to be responsive to our members, across oceans and continents, and ensure that programs and services are in place around the world to support members' changing needs," Naik said. A Board member since 2001, Naik has been involved in the electronic interconnection industry for the past 19 years.

Other new officers include IPC vice chairman Bob Ferguson, president, Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials (China); and secretary/treasurer Steve Pudles, president and CEO, OnCore Manufacturing Services (Mass.).
