CoolWave 2 UV cure equipment.
(May 5, 2008) WESTLAKE, Ohio Nordson Corporation is debuting several UV curing technologies at RadTech UV/EB 2008 in Chicago. The products include low- and high-power systems, cooler operation and environmental safeguards, and technology to protect heat-sensitive substrates.
Both low-power and high-power versions of the Nordson CoolWave 2 410 and 610 systems offer optional internal blower. The high-power system boasts 600 W/inch; the low-power CoolWave 2 system delivers up to 420 W/inch.
CoolWave 2 systems use dichroic-coated temperature stable glass reflectors for cooler operation. They have no internal gasketing, limiting the possibility of arcing. The system provides faster identification of cause of system faults, and greater application flexibility with a range of focused and flood reflector geometries for different manufacturing applications including automotive, electronics, building products, life science/medical device, wire and cable, optical media, and related applications.
The Nordson MonoCure UV system provides an intense, focused band of UV energy for production on heat-sensitive substrates. Combining a primary and secondary UV reflector design, this compact lamp head suits wide-width applications. Other features of the MonoCure system include dichroic reflectors, water-cooled lamp head and filtering tube, shutter-less design, no ozone produced, and elimination of cooling air.
The free-standing MiniCure UV conveyor system cures lacquers, inks, and surface coatings using high-intensity UV light. Compact and freestanding, it offers in-line capability, yet suits lab use in the formulation of UV-cured coatings, or for conveyor wet proofs before production runs. The MiniCure UV conveyor has been used for a variety of substrates such as plastic, paper, wood, glass, metal and many other specialist applications.
