(May 12, 2008) OSAKA, Japan — Nihon Superior Co. Ltd. will celebrate subsidiary Nihon Superior Trading (S) Pte. Ltd.'s 20th year of business, marking the occasion on May 24 in Singapore.

Established in 1988 as part of Nihon Superior Co. Ltd., the company was formed originally as a joint venture (JV) with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. to market soldering and brazing products imported from the Japan. Since then, the company has been working with Nihon Superior Co. Ltd. to gather advanced soldering and brazing technologies and products from around the world, and supplying them to companies in the metal-joining industry.

Nihon Superior Singapore sees future demands for diversification, increasingly sophisticated technologies, and environmental protection, and will continue to "change and grow dramatically to meet industry and customer requirements," said president Tetsuro Nishimura.

During the anniversary celebration, there will be an official announcement about the opening of Nihon Superior Singapore's R&D center. The Singapore office will be developed into an international support office and will include a state-of-the-art R&D center. Nihon Superior's objective for the new R&D facility is future research and testing of its flagship SN100C lead- and silver-free solder alloy.
