EMRISE Receives Harsh-environment Contract

(May 22, 2008) RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — EMRISE CORPORATION, a multi-national manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, received a $700,000 follow-on production order for electronic subassemblies from an existing international customer for use in a harsh-environment offshore drilling application.

Shipments against this order are expected to be completed in 2008. EMRISE expects additional orders for delivery this year and a continuing flow of orders at the rate of approximately $1 million per year for the duration of the multi-year program. The order was received by EMRISE's Xcel Power Systems Ltd. subsidiary, located in the U.K.

EMRISE chairman, president, and CEO Carmine Oliva noted that the manufacturer's strategy to diversify and offer products for harsh-environment commercial applications, leveraging its military expertise, led to the series of orders from this customer. Oliva also cited lean manufacturing and quality control at the company's facilities as contributing to the contract win.
